About Penrith Stationers
Penrith Stationers was started by me, Harriet, in 2021 — though it had been brewing for a while before that! Art and design have always been a passion of mine, and Penrith Stationers has grown naturally out of that hobby, and I'm glad it did. I was born and raised in Cumbria, so the Lake District landscape inspires me a great deal. The fells, the lakes, the paths and trails... everything. I continue to run as a one-person venture, so if you choose to make a purchase here, you're truly supporting a small and independant business.
I always want to create something a bit out of the norm, not generic tourist ware, but things made with real knowledge of and affection for the area — the kind of thing you'd want to keep yourself as much as give to someone else. My hand-drawn map postcards, the Wainwrights Pencil Set, the embroidered walking patches — each one came from that same want.
I care about how things are made as much as what they look like, too. All paper products are printed on high-quality card, carefully selected for their tactile feel and suitability for purpose. I also choose to work with UK-based suppliers wherever possible — mostly northerners! — because keeping business local matters, both as a principle and as a point of pride.
Every product is tried and tested before it reaches you, and every order is packed by hand. As I said, Penrith Stationers is a one-woman operation, and that's how I like it — it means I can be hands-on with absolutely everything, in a way that a bigger brand simply couldn't be.
Whether you've found Penrith Stationers because you love the Lakes, you're looking for a gift for someone who does, or you stumbled across us looking for something a little different — you are very welcome here! I hope you find something that feels like it was made just for you.
